Teaching

Paul invites groups of people into vulnerability through performance. He believes that our stories help us see each other more clearly, at the same time that they create and sustain community.

Paul leads playwriting workshops that help folks write and perform their own stories. He brings his full self to this work—his queerness, his catholic upbringing, and his years of experience as a teaching artist. Workshops can help a community talk about a specific topic—from fracking to contingent labor in academia. They can last just a few hours or span months. Below are some examples. If you are interested in working with Paul as a teaching artist, please email paulwkruse@gmail.com to learn more.

Paul has taught at Middlebury College, Colorado State University, The University of Texas at Austin, The Andy Warhol Museum, The Heinz Endowments, City Theatre, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, Gateway to the Arts, The Marilyn G. Rabb Foundation, and Dreams of Hope.
